Godegaon- A Perfect Model of Village Development
As you can guess from the photo above, there is something really different about the village leaders, which helped the village to emerge as a different model of village development. The chair in the above photo belongs to the sarpanch of Golegaon, on which he has never sat, but on which Savitrimata Phule and the world's most precious book, the Constitution of India, have been placed as a model. Every day inspires the village leaders and villagers to work continuously for the development of the village.
I thank to a social worker Shri. Sunil Chavan and Subhash Chavan, who gave the opportunity to see Golegaon. Golegaon is a village in Khultabad taluka of Aurangabad district, with a population of 2459 and approximately 477 families.
For the last 20 years, the youth of the village have come together and decided to make the village self-sufficient by developing the village and it is completed today whatever they had visualized and dreamed. The reason behind this motivation was, a 13-14-year-old boy was dead while fetching water from a distance, and that sean was seen by the youngsters playing cricket in the field and decided on the same day, whether to solve the water problem in the village or leave the village.
It was not possible for all the youth in the village to leave the village, so they decided to solve the water problem in the village. A well built in the center of the village by collecting Rs. 50 from each person in the village and the problem of drinking water of the village was temporarily solved. And since then they have never looked back. Without the help of the government, the Gram Panchayat and the youth groups worked hard to make all the facilities available in the village and move towards true self-reliance.
By participating in the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup since 2016, the village has converted barren land in the green belt through Shramadan. And due to the availability of water, it became known as the highest milk-producing village in the taluka.
This alchemy is happened only due to the young people in the village as well as the clean and transparent Sarpanch Mr. Santosh Joshi who has developed the village.
Another unique feature of the village is that the Gram Panchayat has started a Garbh-Sanskar Kendra for pregnant women so that any pregnant woman in the village can go to the center and relax there in the daytime, read the autobiographical books of the great personalities, she wants, watches TV. It is a very quiet and well-equipped center and also offers lunch.
